World is more complex, everything is changing rapidly with time, including Microsoft. Old debate: black and white, free software versus proprietary software, OpenXML vs ODF - are not relevant today. Clients mixed IT infrastructure, they want freedom of choice and flexibility and expect IT vendors help in this.
